We price technology the way the person paying for it would.
TechiQuest is an independent journal for founders, operators and team leads who buy software and hardware with a real budget.
Why it exists
Most tech coverage is written for enthusiasts or paid for by vendors. Neither helps the person who has to approve the invoice. We answer one question for every product: what does it return for what it costs?
That means fewer adjectives and more arithmetic. If a dock saves two minutes a day, we say so, price it, and show you where it stops being worth it.
How we research
- Define the jobWe write down what the tool is hired to do, and what would make it worth the money, before reading anything.
- Gather the evidencePrice pages, documentation, changelogs and independent benchmarks. Every source is dated and linked.
- Price the resultTime saved and rework are priced at $65 an hour and set against the full cost of ownership.
- Publish the workingScores, sources and the model go on the page, including findings that go against the vendor.
- Label what’s modelledResearch scores are research scores. If we ever test something by hand, the article says so.
How we make money
Some links are affiliate links. They are added after the score is set, and a product with no affiliate program can and does win. We don’t sell sponsored rankings, paid reviews or guaranteed coverage. Read the disclosure.
